St. John XXIII has three main choirs that provide congregational leadership and special music at our weekly Masses.
All are welcome, and no audition is necessary.

English Settings of the Mass
The Heritage Mass is the most commonly preformed Mass setting at St. John XXIII. It is typically schedule for Eastertide, Christmastide, and Feasts throughout the year at the 8:00am and 10:00am Sunday Masses.
The ICEL setting is generally considered the universal standard for English Masses globally.
John Merbecke (c. 1510-c. 1585) was a English musician, organist, and theologian before and during the English Reformation. His setting of the liturgy was adapted for the Roman Catholic Church following the Second Vatican Council. The Merbecke Mass is currently scheduled for Ordinary Time at the 8:00am and 10:00am Sunday Masses.
Mass of the Patriarchs, based on an Ancient French Tone, arr. Michael O’Connor, O. P. is the Advent setting of the Mass at the 8:00am and 10:00am Sunday Masses.
Composed by Richard Proulx (d. 2010), one of the most influential figures in twentieth century liturgical music, the Missa Simplex is scheduled for Ordinary Time at the 8:00am and 10:00am Sunday Masses.

The following service music is used for various occasions throughout the year. Typically at St. John XXIII, the creed is spoken, but when it is chant we use Credo I or Credo III. In the Novus ordo (modern mass) the sprinkling rite is usually only performed by the choir, but in the Extraordinary form (12:00pm Sunday Mass) either the Asperges Me or Vidi Aquam is sung as part of the Introductory Rite of the Mass.
